Let's take a look at Meat

My approach to achieving a better body comes from diet and exercise. Sounds quite familiar doesn't it? Well that's because it's true. Have you heard of the expression "You are what you eat" ? So if you eat lots of hamburgers, you will eventually look like one too.

I currently study and work in the health industry and many of the ideologies that we practice and preach have so many contradictions that make it incredibly difficult for the body to restore balance. For example, individuals who are diabetic are often given medication to control blood sugar levels. Although they are given guides on what to eat and what to avoid, diabetes management is still difficult. I find there is actually a lack of dialogue on food choices to enhance the body's production of insulin. After all, the body is designed to heal itself, so it should have all the tools it needs to maintain balance.

I'm sure many of you are familiar with Canada's Food Guide, I chose this over many other food guides because it's simple, easy to follow and does not include junk food as part of it's allowance. The emphasis on vegetables and carbohydrates is especially important as it is the main essentials required for our bodies to function optimally. As whole food, plant-based diets are on the rise, more and more people are discovering they don't need diary and meats to be healthy. And perhaps the need for protein at all is obsolete. As farming became more sophisticated, food becomes more abundant, meat and dairy have become more of a treat rather than an essential. Not only are meat expensive, but studies say they could be the cause of modern health diseases such as cancer, obesity, and cancer.

Take a look at these two individuals below, they've stopped eating meat and diary and their lives have completely changed for the better. As more of these individuals begin to share similar stories all over the world, Perhaps we should listen.
